🔒 Short version: We look at your Gmail only to find your shopping orders and subscriptions, and only after you grant permission. Your email content is parsed on your device, never stored on a server, never sold, and never shared with anyone.
Safety Pin ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application designed to help users in India shop safely online, track orders, find coupons, and manage shopping-related emails. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

Google Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. This is used solely to identify your account within the app.
Gmail Data: With your explicit permission, we access your Gmail account in read-only mode to:
When this happens: the first search runs during onboarding, when you tap "Find my orders". After that, the app refreshes your orders when you open it (at most once every 30 minutes), and whenever you tap Scan in Profile. You can stop this at any time by disconnecting Gmail or revoking access.
What we do NOT collect from Gmail:
Browsing Data: Safety Pin has no servers, so your browsing history is never sent to us and is not stored anywhere outside your device. To produce a safety score, the address of the page you are viewing is checked against the independent security services listed in section 5. Those checks send only the web address (or its domain or IP), never your identity or any personal data, and no browsing history is retained by us.
Usage Data: Safety Pin contains no analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs. We collect no usage statistics of any kind.
We do not use your information to serve you ads, and we do not sell or rent your personal data to any third party.
Your order data and account information are stored locally on your device using encrypted storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). We do not maintain a backend database of your personal data.
Your Google access token is stored securely using Expo SecureStore and is used only to make authorised API calls on your behalf. Tokens are never transmitted to Safety Pin's servers.
We use industry-standard security practices to protect any data processed through our app. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We never transfer your Gmail data to anyone. Gmail content is parsed entirely on your device and is never sent to Safety Pin's servers or to any third party. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with data brokers, advertisers, or any other party.
Safety Pin uses the following third-party services. None of them receive your Gmail data or personal information — they receive only the specific inputs listed:
These security services receive a web address only; they never receive your name, email address, Gmail content, orders, or saved addresses.
Retention. Safety Pin has no backend database. Your orders, subscriptions, wishlist, saved addresses, and Google access token are stored only on your own device, and are retained until you delete them or uninstall the app. We do not retain copies of your Gmail data at any point — email content is parsed in memory on your device and discarded immediately; only the extracted order details (store, order ID, amount, status) are saved locally.

Because no personal data leaves your device, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Safety Pin's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
Safety Pin does not use any artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Order details are extracted using fixed pattern matching that runs on your device.
The use of raw or derived user data received from Google Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google Workspace API data to develop, improve, or train generalised AI or ML models, and we do not transfer such data to any third-party AI/ML service.
Safety Pin is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
